I have been interested in psychology for as long as I can remember and decided to study this field in college. As I learned more about the connection between mind and body I decided to attend medical school. I completed my psychiatric residency at Ohio State University in 2011. Since that time I have worked in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities prior to opening my own private practice in 2017.
Despite the fact that many psychological problems stem from a disease process in the brain that requires medication, my treatment approach is holistic. I help my patients look at the impact their relationships, job, lifestyle and upbringing have on their mental health. Another common cause of emotional distress is a lack of self compassion and I work with my patients to develop this practice.
Tina is a Jack Russell Terrier who comes to work with me and brightens everyone’s day. In her spare time she enjoys chasing lizards and walks on the beach.
